ASSA ABLOY has finalised the acquisition of the entire share capital of Arran Isle, a designer, manufacturer and distributor of door and window hardware in the UK, Ireland and Europe and Caldwell Manufacturing, a designer, manufacturer and supplier of hardware for the fenestration industry.

Arran Isle has some 560 employees, with operational activity at sites in UK, Ireland, Europe and China. Arran Isle has a varied portfolio of products primarily trading under the brands of Carlisle Brass and Mila.  Businesses within the Arran Isle group date back as far as 1971, the group provides a market leading service provision to customers.

ASSA ABLOY is an international group with around 48,000 employees and sales close to €8.4 billion. In the UK, ASSA ABLOY is best known for the Yale and UNION brands and has its Head Office and main manufacturing centre in Willenhall.

”Arran Isle Group and their respective businesses bring well-known brands and an operational model that delivers consistent, great service” said Harry Warrender, Senior Vice President and Head of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK and Ireland.

“Their portfolio delivers on our strategy to extend the ASSA ABLOY product and service offering for the UK and Ireland and it gives me great pleasure to welcome the Arran Isle team to our organisation.”

Harry also added about the Caldwell Manufacturing acquisition: “”Caldwell Hardware UK have been providing a comprehensive range of spring balance and associated hardware for vertical sliding (sash) windows in the UK and Ireland since 1973.

”Their portfolio is a complementary addition to our own ranges and delivers on our strategy to extend the ASSA ABLOY product and service offering for the fenestration industry in the UK and Ireland.  I look forward to welcoming the Caldwell Hardware UK team to our organisation.”

The Arran Isle management team will report into ASSA ABLOY UK&I’s executive team with immediate effect and the intention is for the business to run very much ‘business as usual’ to focus on continuing to deliver customer service excellence.
